Capcom Future Mascots Royal by hakuxtemari

GENERIC JAPANESE ROOF TOP

-11:45 AM-

Captain Commando strummed his guitar, his cowboy hat covering his face. He heard rumors of a rogue warrior, a Shinobi. The man wanted to know if he was friend… or foe. If he was lucky, maybe he would help the Commando Squad.

As he continued to strum, he heard a faint beeping sound and turned; facing what appeared to be a child in blue. The two noticed each other, their eyes scanning the other. Commando’s goggles picked up on the foe:

MEGA MAN/ ROCK MAN

UNIT NUMBER – DRN-001

For Megaman, it was the same.

COMMANDO

HUMAN

LAW OF ROBOTIC DRIVE SETTINGS

KILL

>DO NOT KILL

Right then, something took him over. Mega glanced to what appeared to be the castle across the way and saw a shadow vanish from the top. Commando noticed and quickly tossed his guitar and hat. His entire body shadowed out, allowing his armor to teleport onto him. Soon after, the shadow appeared between them. Commando smirked.

“You must be the ninja.” He stated. His goggles picked up on his foe instantly.

NAME CONCELED – HIRYU

STRIDER ORGANIZATION

HIGH THREAT

“I am Captain Commando. I can be your friend. Because you don’t want to be my enemy.”

Hiryu stood silent and faced both of his targets.

“Forgive me, but I’m not here for allies. I am here to exterminate you both.” He explained. Megaman quickly activated his arm cannon and hopped back. At the same time; Commando clicked his tongue.

“You may want to change your tone my outdated friend.”

Hiryu held onto his sword. His mind was made up, and nothing was going to change that. As Megaman charged his buster, Commando prepared to call for back up. Hiryu himself, crouched down to focus on a target. Only one of Capcom’s mascots was going to walk away from this place alive.

FIGHT

Hiryu made a sharp turn, facing Commando.

“This is Commando, I n-!”

-SHING!-

His communicator was sliced in half before his very eyes, and Hiryu was prepared to aim for the head this time. Before the ninja could, he heard a loud blast heading his way and turned around. What he saw was a large blue ball of energy heading directly for his face.

With a single flip; he landed behind Commando, aiming to have the Captain get hit by the oncoming wave. Instead; the Captain simply spun, his first connecting right into Hiryu’s cheek and sending him flying a few meters. Commando then hopped over the charged ball of energy, aiming to have it hit the ninja while he was stunned. A smirk formed as he and the hyper fighting robot decided to team up. The two hurried for Hiryu, with Megaman shooting a few buster shots first.

The futuristic Shinobi noticed and sprinted towards the shots. He easily slid under each one and prepared his Falchion to slice at the two. However, he was unprepared for the aerial attack from Commando, who rammed his fist directly into Hiryu’s chest. The Shinobi was stuck in place as he felt two electric prods impale into his chest, building up the shock.

With a smirk; Commando lifted Hiryu and tossed him directly towards Megaman. The robot followed up with a move he saw in a tournament. He spun in a short burst, a wave of energy coating his fist. The fist connected with Hiryu’s chin and launched him into the air… only for him to get kicked higher by Commando. The Shinobi knew that if this kept up, he would be in trouble.

To compensate, he spun in place and made a quick handsign.

“C!”

A blur of red and blue flew through the air, narrowing missing the two opponents. Hiryu held his hand out and caught onto the blur, it slowed just enough to reveal a large hawk-like robot with a glider grip underneath. The machine flew higher at increasing speeds, its cry echoing through the sky.

The two looked in surprise as Hiryu vanished in red in blue… than each other. That was until Commando’s visor started to beep at an unnerving pace.

“Megaman! Behind you!” he announced. The blue bomber turned around and typed on his arm cannon, activating a… shield of leaves…

Despite the impractical appearance, they did the job; blocking the incoming hawk robot and causing it to explode on contact without Megaman himself taking damage. Megaman shot forth a buster shot the second the explosion occurred, hoping to hit Hiryu…

But nothing was touched. Confusion rang over his face, as well as Commando’s. At least until his visor beeped. He quickly turned around and saw Hiryu had ditched the ride earlier and was attacking from the other side by tossing a kunai.

The traditional (yet highly unsuitable in reality) weapon flew at Commando, who simply allowed his chest plate to block the weapon. A bad move on his part.

BOOM!!

The exploding kunai launched Commando back, surprising him just long enough for Hiryu to make a mad dash for him and jump. The futuristic ninja charged Falchion and swung, sending several plasma blades at the savior of Metro City. Megaman took note and jumped in front of Commando, activating another leaf shield and holding onto his ally. Two of the blades missed entirely, but the third hit the shield dead on, dissipating it. Hiryu quickly followed up by tripping the duo than throwing a powerful kick to Commando’s back, sending him and Megaman across the temple rooftop.

The two tried to recollect themselves, but Hiryu refused to allow that. He hurried for them, charging another increased blow from his blade.

Luckily for Mega, he recollected himself quickly and shot forth not a charged shot but what appeared to be a small drill-like weapon. It hit the rooftop, forcing Hiryu to hop back in anticipation. The ninja knew it had to be a bomb judging from the blinking top, but he didn’t want to risk using the Ground Tech just yet with its risk of destroying the building.

Unfortunately, Commando WAS this sort of risk-taker, picking up the Crash Bomb drill and running for Hiryu like a quarterback. The ninja was baffled by the suicidal charge and decided now was the best time, at least to get Commando to fall and blow himself up. With a quick movement of his fingers, a burst of yellow erupted across the ground, causing a fissure-like effect. Commando took this as his chance and hopped a good ten feet, tossing the bomb at Hiryu.

It landed right in front of him when the earthquake-like tech was in use.

CR-CRCRCRCR-CRAASH!!

The three noticed the rooftop break open, forcing them to fall. Unsurprisingly, the fact it was an old building meant that each floor was now weaker because of it.

50th floor…

49th floor…

48th floor…

47th

Each time they landed, the given floor gave way, this pattern continued for a good few minutes until they finally landed on the first floor… of a bath house. To make matters worse? The rubble landed on each of them.

Megaman was strong enough to move the debris off of him without effort. Heck, without the Super Arm he managed to support a part of a falling building so in comparison, this was nothing. This was followed up by a loud yell as Commando freed himself from the rubble piled on him with an erupting punch and Hiryu simply sliced all of the rubble on him into nothing. The three looked around at the old men watching the show… and promptly walked out as if they saw death itself.

As soon as they walked from the building, Hiryu stopped, allowing the two blue-clad heroes to walk ahead and face him.

“So, where were we?” Commando asked rhetorically.

Megaman didn’t hesitate as he hopped towards Hiryu and kicked him across the face. Maybe it was the fact he just saw a bunch of old men in towels still etched into his mind that distracted him or the expectations that Commando would attack first, but either way, he didn’t expect the Blue Bomber to strike first. The kick stunned him just long enough for Commando to add insult to injury.

Scene II by hakuxtemari

The Metro City hero spun towards him, a stream of flame emitting from his boot as he struck the Shinobi in the face and sent him flying into the building and back into the same bath house. As Hiryu recollected himself, Megaman hurried in and attacked with a flying kick. Hiryu noticed him and prepared to use an upward slash. However, he was interrupted by a powerful kick to the chest by Commando, followed by the kick from Megaman.

The Shinobi fell over, exhausted as the two prepared to end it. Commando prepared to land the final punch.

“Captain!!”

That’s when Hiryu gasped for breath and yelled.

“B!”

In that instant, a red blur lunged forward, knocking into both opponents and sending them spiraling through the wall and into a truck just on the other side of the building.

Inside the truck was a large wooden crate. In it – disguised as catfood, was a strange purple gas. Megaman flew right into it and groaned in pain. The gas began to infiltrate his systems. The force of which he hit the box caused the catfood logo to fall off, revealing…

ROBOENZA 3.0 – DEVELOPED BY DOCTOR WILEY

Megaman fell over, unknowingly inhaling the gas.

SYSTEMS

THREE LAW OF RROOOORROOO—

SYSTEM ERROR

ROBOENZA IN EFFECT

Megaman awoke, his face in anger as he stood. Holding his head in pain, he looked around, dazed and confused. That’s when he heard Commando holding his hand out.

“Hey, you alright?”

-THE BATH HOUSE-

Hiryu held his head in pain, sighing in relief. He could take a breather…

“Wuagh!”

 Or maybe not.

Commando flew past him, crashing into the front desk. As the Shinobi looked in confusion, he turned and noticed a large truck heading his way. The Shinobi held back Falchion, charging the slash. As soon as the truck came close, he jumped and swung the sword, a large plasma cut bisecting the several ton vehicle so he could get by unharmed. When he landed, he was greeted with a slide kick, courtesy of Megaman.

Before he could hit the ground however; Megaman grabbed his foot and slammed him onto the ground than lifted him again, prepping a charge shot right for the Shinobi’s face. Before he could blow his load, the Shinobi activated a Fire Tech, causing a fireball to erupt in his. The sudden blast forced Megaman to drop his foe and jump back. In retaliation, the robot dropped a soccer ball from his arm cannon instead and kicked it.

Hiryu responded by throwing one of his kunai in return, causing the two unorthodox weapons to bounce off of each other and the walls. During this, the two began fighting face-to-face, sword slashes and fists missing by mere hairs of each other.  While doing so, they were weary of the incoming weapons bouncing at increasing speeds, slowly but surely the weapons started to become blurs… than sparks… and eventually, they caught fire!

Noticing this, Megaman jumped back and fired a pulse at the flaming weapons. The sound wave emitting from his arm cannon sent the flaming kunai and ball at the Shinobi, who easily sliced them in half and hopped back, sending forth another kunai. Megaman didn’t waste time firing another sonic pulse to reflect it… just what Hiryu wanted.

“Now!”

A streak of blue and red dashed towards Megaman. Unlike last time, he was prepared. Without even breaking focus, the blue bomber fired what appeared to be scissor blades at the robotic sabertooth tiger, severing it in two without effort. The robot than hopped towards Hiryu and shot a rotating blade at him; slicing up his chest and leaving him open for a Mega Upper. As the Shinobi rocketed against the ceiling, the blue bomber prepared the finishing blow and shot forth several Metal Blades. Hiryu effortlessly sliced each one, holding his bleeding chest as he prepared to fall. That’s when he noticed Megaman glowing a bright white and blue.

Everything was going to end badly… until…

“CAPTAIN…”

Megaman was caught off guard as Commando came from nowhere, ramming his powerful gauntlet into the blue bomber’s face. As electric sparks emitted from the fists, Hiryu took note and decided to focus on assisting him. The Shinobi landed against the ground than charged, watching as Megaman was sent through several rooftops!

Without either of them sharing a word; Hiryu jumped on Commando’s fist and had the hero of Metro City throw him upwards. The Shinobi caught up to Megaman in a heartbeat and grabbed onto him. Without hesitation, he began to spin in place than turn, performing the infamous izuna drop.

A pulse of electricity formed right between them, signaling Hiryu to hop off. Megaman was face-to-face with Commando now.

Scene II.V by hakuxtemari

“STORM!!”

KRRRRA- KKKRRAAACHHKKKK~!!

The entire building went up in flames as a lightning bolt emitted from the powerful blow! Megaman was nowhere in sight as Commando caught his breath. With burning debris surrounding him, he prepared to leave until…

Br-reeeeeeeeeeeeeem

Commando turned to face the unknown sound but was hit dead on by a red blast of energy. His armor protected him completely, but he was still open, lunged over from the force. Megaman shot forth a black dot from his arm cannon that quickly expanded into a miniature singularity. The Black Hole Bomb!

Commando tried to fight back… but it was quickly proving to be futile. It may have not been as strong as the real deal, but the suction was just as painful, pulling his armor with enough force to break against his back. He had one more attack… while he may not have the team, he sure as hell could try to take out this robot!

“Captain!”

A ball of light formed in his hands, expanding in size as Megaman fired another Black Hole Bomb. With immense will-power and strength! Commando roared, the ball expanding brighter and larger!

“SWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOORRRRRRDDDDDD!!!”

Commando swung the blade of will-power and energy, the force meeting with the Black Hole Bomb… in that instant.

-ding-

All of Tokyo was engulfed in flame in an instant. The once-beautiful city ruined and shattered. Fire broke through windows, earthquakes trembled, cars were overturned, and the once blue skies were darkened in almost an instant. As the people ran for cover or to find loved ones; a worn out Captain Commando laid, buried under rubble.

The hero of Metro City coughed and effortlessly lifted the debris, tossing it away. He took the time to watch the carnage unfold around him and clenched his fist, hurrying to help anyone. Instead, he was brought down by an explosion that took his leg. He was unaware of a Crash Bomber that was waiting for him just underneath a collapsed girder.

Pain coursed through his being as he tried to drag himself to safety. Instead, he was grabbed by his hair and tossed against the wall. Coughing in pain, Commando looked up at the face of Megaman - the blue bomber himself was slightly singed, his arms and helmet scuffed a bit by the explosion. However, he seemed to be in somewhat better shape.

In pain; Commando threw a punch, sending a wave of intense fire at the robot. While hotter than Napalmman’s own fire, it didn’t leave that lingering effect actual napalm is known for. To prove this, Megaman walked through the fire without much effort and activated the Super Arm for both hands. He effortlessly crushed both of Captain Commando’s arms with a single grip and pulled them apart.

The hero yelled in pain, but he wasn’t out! In a last attempt, Commando arched his remaining leg and threw it forth, unleashing the full effects of a Captain Kick. The flames should have incinerated Megaman on contact. Instead, the blue bomber just began to glow a bright white and fired a charged shot right into Commando’s face. The size of the ball of energy incinerated his head on contact, leaving just the armor and lower body.

Megaman sighed in relief. It should be over… should be…

-vhip!-

SSHIINNG!!!

Those were the last two words a normal human would’ve heard. For Megaman, the second he heard the former, he had no choice but to duck. He barely dodged the swing that would’ve taken his head.

Hiryu was healed, thanks to his Medical Tech and Vajra, he not only got a good show, but also had the chance to recover his stamina. He was now fully prepared to fight for real.

The two were now ready for the final battle.

FIGHT!!

Hiryu charged forth, resembling a blur for a moment. Megaman easily grabbed the Shinobi and slammed him than hopped into the air, shooting several times at his foe. Unfortuntly, Hiryu was just as prepared. The Shinobi rolled back a few times and swung Falchion, a cresent wave of plasma slicing into Megaman’s chest. The Blue Bomber yelled in pain as he landed, activating a Leaf Shield for protection. Hiryu refused to allow that to stand and vanished. Megaman assumed he’d appear behind him and turned around. Instead, Hiryu appeared just above him and swung down, destroying the shield with ease.

Surprised; Megaman performed an uppercut… and missed. Hiryu appeared right behind him and swung Falchion again. Before the blade could slice the robot, Megaman held his arm out.

“Time Stopper!”

-DING-

Everything froze. Hiryu was unaware of this, and even then, his blade had nearly slashed itself into Megaman’s waist. The Blue Bomber checked his weapon output.

BLACK HOLE BOMB – 4

METAL BLADE – 76

LEAF SHIELD – 7

CRASH BOMB – 4

ROLLING CUTTER – 27

NOISE CRASH – 25

He had plenty of ammo left. To settle it, he fired a few Rolling Cutters, Crash Bombs, Metal Blades, and even a couple of Black Hole Bombs for safety. The Blue Bomber than stepped back a bit and watched his foe… 3… 2… 1…

Soshite, toki ga ugoki desu.

Hiryu’s expression said it all. The variety of blades headed right for him alongside the suction of the black hole pulling him in! A normal man would’ve been killed right there… then again, most men didn’t have the training of over a hundred special forces.

The Shinobi swung Falchion at high speed, slicing each weapon apart with minor cuts and scraps connecting. As for the black hole? Nothing his vajra couldn’t help him from.

Megaman himself was baffled at the sight. This HAD to be implausible! The Blue Bomber fired a Noise Crash to see if he could hit the Shinobi… but this resulted in him almost losing that arm. Hiryu appeared before him and made a single hand sign, having two floating bots circle him. As Megaman jumped back, he saw Hiryu send several disc-shaped blasts of energy from the bots. Nothing a few Mega Buster shots couldn’t fix. If only it was that simple.

Hiryu vanished again. This time, instead of above, he appeared directly behind the Blue Bomber and began an assault of Falchion slashes to the back. Megaman couldn’t help but yell in pain, but not before breaking the Shinobi’s combo with a Mega Upper. The uppercut sent Hiryu skyrocketing, allowing him to follow suit and grab onto his foe. Hiryu was more surprised that his foe even crashed through his bots.

To make matter worse? Megaman had a spinning piledriver of his own. The robot spun around, forcing Hiryu to crash against the ground headfirst.  The two separated from the collision, scrapes and cuts more visible than before. Megaman could feel his entire body at it’s limit. And with no E-Tanks nearby, he would be in trouble. Hiryu? He was beat just as bad. The Medical Tech helped, but he was too in tuned to the fight to notice the earlier fired Noise Crashes had reflected from a all and struck him, damaging his hearing and adding a small sense of dizziness.

The two warriors ignored their wounds and faced each other. They had a single trump card… and now was the time to use it. After a few seconds, they hopped at each other, Megaman holding his arm cannon to fire a Black Hole Bomb. Hiryu on the other hand…

Scene III by hakuxtemari

“HA!!”

He swung Falchion, the plasma blade creating its infamous wave to completely sever the Blue Bomber’s arm. Megaman could only look in utter surprise as they came face to face.

“Time to end this!” announced Hiryu.

Megaman’s eyes widened as his other arm transformed into its arm cannon form. However… it was too late. A kunai was thrown into Megaman’s forehead, encasing him in ice. Now, the show could begin…

“RAGNAROK!!”

Megaman was lucky that he couldn’t feel the oncoming pain. At high speeds, almost at enough to resemble three Hiryus at once, piece by piece of the Blue Bomber came off. The arm flew off first, circling across the air. After that, his left leg came clean off. After that, his chest sprayed open, then his waist was sliced open, than his back, helmet, and neck. The last thing Megaman could see was a hand grabbing onto his face and slamming him onto the ground, the sudden force echoing across the burning city.

As Hiryu stood, he heard the sound of Megaman erupting, leaving nay a trace left of the robotic warrior. He hadn’t faced a foe that tough in a very… very long time.

As he left, leaving the burning city of Tokyo, a man in a black trench coat stepped from the shadows. His blonde hair waving as the flames reflected from his shades.

“Hmhmhm, should’ve cut me a check Dr. Light. On the bright side… I have a new prize now…” he said to himself. He turned to Captain Commando’s armor, buried under some burning rubble. He may need it when he meets the man of Shadaloo in the future.

K-O

Wendy: “That’s not a good sign…”

Hakuboshi: “Between these three, it was dangerously close between Megaman and Hiryu. Not only did their weapons perfectly go toe-to-toe, but while Commando had the best defense, he was trumped by everything else.”

Wendy: “Megaman once STOPPED a large chunk of Wily’s castle from crushing him and managed to hold it long enough for Protoman to save him so he clearly had the power advantage. Even then, he was much faster, capable of reacting to fights that took place in space. Also, Hiryu is not just closer in speed to Megaman, but hes also the only one of the three who could actually carry a piece of medicine WITHOUT needing to find it or get Eddie to deliver it, hence the lack of E-Tanks.”

Hakuboshi: “Also, while Megaman is the fastest, and the most experienced, it didn’t automatically mean victory. Hiryu’s sword not only has more than enough power to cut through almost anything, but hes a superior fighter once he gets close. Add in his teleportation, techs that can include earthquakes, and useful robots, he easily had ways to counter both fighters.”

Wendy: “Also, Commando’s armor only protects his chest, leaving the remainder of his body vulnable. While his goggles prevented sneak attacks, Megaman had no means of countering that other than his reflexes and he would easily outlast Commando. As for why the Black Hole Bomb isn’t a one hit kill?”

Hakuboshi: “While its true that the BHB would be the perfect trump card alongside the Time Stopper, it doesn’t function exactly like a black hole as it lasts for a few seconds and while it can pull anything on screen towards it, it doesn’t automatically give Megaman the victory. It didn’t help that Megaman has a finite amount of weapons. When those get depleted, he would have to rely on the good old buster. And Hiryu has plenty of ways to close the gap.”

Wendy: “Overall? Hiryu just needed to get one good enough swing as he would have the advantage up close, especially against someone whose well – main strategy is jumping and shooting. As for Commando? Poor guy didn’t stand a chance. Hiryu was just a cut above the both of them.”

Hakuboshi: “The winner is Strider Hiryu.”

Though poor Mega Man and Captain Commando though
