Nine: “Gensokyo. A beautiful world of fantasy, sealed off around the 1880s, it resembles an era of Japan never left. Its many sages created this world as a safe haven for Youkai. And one of these sages - is Yukari Yakumo.”

Hakuboshi: “Her origins a complete mystery - but linked somehow to a girl in the future, Yukari is always behind the scenes, making sure the Hakurei Shrine Maiden is well and sleeping. Mostly sleeping.”

Nine: “Like a certain lazy friend of mine.”

Hakuboshi: “... Shut up.”

Nine: [giggles] “Slothfulness aside, Yukari is among Gensokyo’s founders - her true nature and goals a mystery to many and shes even called a youkai-like youkai, ensuring none know her. Even the Luanrian Goddess - Eirin was forced to fear her. The most we got was that she allowed Youkai to try and invade the Lunar Capital and fail miserably to show them the dangers of trying to expand as well as inspects the land to ensure nobody threatens its security. Which she does terribly when she slept through TWO incidents that could have destroyed it but acted like two swindlers was worth her time.”

*The attack gradually speeds up, bombarding the enemy at speeds that makes blocking useless

*The attack will appear instantaneous, adding in Yukari’s mobility to increase difficulty keeping up

Yakumo’s Nest

*Positioning herself above the foe, Yukari has lasers spread to a nest-like pattern, breaking and reforming

*Based off the urban legend of the Teke-Teke, Yukari traps the enemy

*And suddenly slices them in half from a distance, stopping even the music

*Hard to tell but either seems to strike from a different dimension or pulls them inside a different dimension to finish the job

Hakuboshi: “In combat, Yukari usually keeps things to a minimum. As a youkai, she can shrug off being cut apart and heal from being reduced to mincemeat or erased, has strength beyond even Rinnosuke, whose half-youkai, tank a mini-sun thrown by Utsuho, can fight on par with an oni who tosses black holes around, and is actually tough enough to beat down a Celestial, one of the strongest races in Gensokyo.”

Nine: “And said Celestial was tough enough to no-sale knives able to pierce ghosts and sky breaking oni. WITH A FAN AND UMBRELLA!”

Hakuboshi: “And thats not all. Yukari likes carrying around street signs, holy spikes, and even trains as common tools. Her most useful equipment also include Ran, whose basically a living supercomputer capable of measuring the immeasurable.”

Nine: “It also helps that Yukari is smart enough to make over 1000 calculations, could calculate the width of the Sanzu River faster than Ran could, and was immune to the mind altering effects of the true moon and saw through Keine’s ability to hide history by noticing the human village when Reimu couldn’t. Basically, she can see through illusions and smart enough to make plans rather quickly and pull them off insanely fast. She can see the future even and even boost the power of her own Shikigami and likely herself.”

Hakuboshi: “And given the nature of Touhou - she can make your life hell with danmaku. The series if her playing around - well, EVERYONE plays around, but it stands to see that she can stand above everyone else in the series not a Lunarian after all.”

Nine: “And thats where her power comes in. The ability to manipulate boundaries. Which is as scary as it sounds.”

Hakuboshi: “Yukari is said to control the boundaries of all things. This includes life and death, 2D and 3D, Day and Night, Master and Slave, Human and Youkai, the list goes on. She can use this to trap her foes in stories and photos, deny abilities, erase something’s existence, and even make the transitions so subtle that she can bring someone into a different realm without them knowing.”

Nine: “And thats the short list. Her common ability is to control gaps, portal-like rips in space. She can use these to teleport, travel, snatch projectiles, and even attack with them. She can even cut her and others in half!”

Hakuboshi: "... I thought Touhou was supposed to be non-fatal?"

Nine: "Well, her urban legend IS based off the Teke-Teke..."



Nine: "...and youkai can survive."

Hakuboshi: "How do you explain Reimu and Marisa?"

Nine: ... "LOOK, CHRIS HEMSWORTH IS STRIPPING!"

Hakuboshi: "What- where?!"

Nine: "hee hee... idiot."

Defeated a vampire who tried to conquer Gensokyo in the past

Got Reimu to solve incidents for her

Defeated Eirin Yagokoro and Kaguya Houraisen

Defeated Fujiwara no Mokou

Outsmarted the Watatsuki Sisters, who were students to Eirin Yagokoro

-Pretended to be prisoner and had Yuyuko sneak in while Reimu and Remilia were bait

Managed to trick and horrify Eirin Yagokoro, whose hinted to be Omoikane, a Kami known for intelligence

Discovered a strategy to end the sister Gods Jo’on and Shion’s scheme quickly and stopped them

-Even then, treated the incident as bothersome and non-threatening but rather in annoyance

Weaknesses

Has certain limits to her portal creation

-Can’t automatically show up at the Moriya Shrine

-Took multiple uses to arrive at Heaven

-Had to find the right moment to open a portal to the Lunar Capital

Lazy and tends to not get serious

Hakuboshi: “In the end, Yukari is… strong. REALLY strong.”

Nine: “And we’re just limited by the number length. Shes lazy so she doesn’t usually go serious, often taking it chill. Also, she can’t exactly use her gap teleports to automatically go to the moon unless certain conditions are met. Same for Heaven and and Moriya Shrine.”

Hakuboshi: “Still, Yukari is a major threat to anyone she meets. Would she overcome Aizen? Or would-.”

Wendy: “Wait, why didn’t you let me know you two were ongoing!?”

Hakuboshi: “Oh, hi Wendy.”

Nine: “STAY TUNED!”
